In order to build “Common Denominator of Action,” you need a system that captures data in real-time. Here is a manageable “Value-Log” Checklist designed to take less than 15 minutes a week.

📅 The Weekly 15-Minute Audit

Set a recurring calendar invite for Friday afternoon. Don’t leave for the weekend until this is updated.

1. The “Solved It” Moment

Identify one specific friction point you removed this week.

  • The Question: What stopped breaking because I was here?
  • Action Log: “Fixed the recurring lag in the Monday sync by creating a pre-read template.”

2. The “Receipts” (Quantifiable Data)

Numbers are the ultimate common denominator.

  • The Question: What did I increase, decrease, or save?
  • Action Log: “Processed 45 tickets (10% above avg) with a 98% satisfaction rate.”

3. The “Soft” Win (Pattern Building)

Capture the behaviors that show how you work.

  • The Question: Did I mentor someone? Did I pivot when a project changed?
  • Action Log: “Pivoted project X to project Y in 24 hours after the client changed the scope.”

📂 The “Brag Folder” System

Life moves fast; don’t rely on your memory. Create a digital paper trail.

  • [ ] The Email Archive: Create a folder in your inbox called “Kudos/Impact.” Every time a client or boss sends a “Thank you” or “Good job,” drag it there immediately.
  • [ ] The Screenshot Strategy: If you see a positive metric on a dashboard or a compliment in Slack, screenshot it. Drop it into a dedicated “Career Wins” folder on your phone or desktop.
  • [ ] The Monthly “So What?” Review: Once a month, look at your weekly logs and ask, “So what?”
